The Cockatoo Thief

The Cockatoo Thief is a new wine label by Lazy River Estate in Dubbo, inspired by the playful challenge cockatoos pose to the vineyard each season. The goal was to create a brand that captured this spirited story, highlighting the vineyard’s respect for nature, the pursuit of perfect timing, and the character of their wines, while standing out on crowded shelves.

I developed a minimalist, clean visual identity centred on a custom cockatoo illustration carrying grapes, designed to work in both black and white for red and white wine labels. The design heroes the illustration, creating a bold, recognisable brand that communicates the vineyard’s narrative, celebrates the vintage’s vibrant character, and ensures the wines are instantly memorable for customers.
